Child Safety Gate Types
There are different types of child safety gates that allow the consumer choose what is right for their home, their child, and their safety needs. Below we will give you a brief summary of each kind of child safety gate.
- Transparent Kid Shield- The Kid Shield is shatterproof plastic that can protect your child on stairs and railings. The shield prevents children from falling through the spindles and is very easy to install. The Kid Shield is great for outside balconies or any area where a child might slip through and get hurt.
- The Kiddy Guard- The Kiddy Guard is a retractable gate made of a laminated polyester mesh. His gate is great for areas where there is not room for a gate to swing open and when you unlatch the gate it basically disappears.
- Hearth Gates- Hearth Gates are made to go around the hearths and they are made to withstand the heat or fire from your fireplace. You could also use it around a wood burning stove or an outside grill.
- The Traditional Gate- The traditional gates are made of steel or wood and come in a few different colors. These gates are mounted on walls or door ways and they lock. You will need room to swing the gate door open and you will need to make sure you buy a gate wide enough to cover your opening. There are gates today that can block a very wide opening and gates that can be mounted at an angle.
